Optimism in Love and Sex
erotic tales by
j.j.kirnan
What is "love in bed?"
Is intense carnal sex beautiful? Could they also be in love? In my books of literary fiction, the answer is yes. I call it "love in bed."
Many literary novelists say love must feature cold beds, passive-aggressive tricks, drift, cheating, and sophisticated boredom. "Love is bourgeois."
Popular romance, on the other hand, can be timid about sex and often ends with a forced and predictable happy ending. Or, on the other hand, a seemingly unnecessary catastrophe closes the drama ... a boating disaster or fatal cancer from nowhere.
I find these approaches dull. Sex + Love is too much fun.
What about great erotic love, written with realism of the human condition, yet absent the despairing elements? Love should win, sometimes, and they should be red-hot in bed!
I dispute the many voices saying "... sexual loving is not like that. It's a dark battlefield." If that were true, humans would disappear, instead of enduring for six million years.
